Hi, when will fun runs be back?

    Hello Jaspaven!

Have you kept your running shoes hitting the pavement during the pandemic? I know I could have been better, but I’m back in regular training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February of 2022. This weekend was finally the return of in-person racing at Walt Disney World with runDisney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend!

My family loves the fun runs at Disney Resort Collection Hotels. We have done both the Seaside Sprint at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas and the Southernmost Point Fun Run at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. A quick run with the family is the perfect start to a Disney day, and an ideal excuse to eat all the treats later!

At this point, Disney has not made any announcements as to when fun runs might return. They are not part of runDisney, but part of resort recreation. We just need to keep training and hope for the best. In my experience, Mickey keeps a pretty good secret, and there may not be a big announcement when they return. If you’ll be visiting, I’d pack your running gear just in case. I would also recommend following the Disney Parks Blog on social media to keep up with all official announcements, and perhaps even some fan-based social media sites or Facebook pages. Other Disney Guests love to post about these types of events and if they suddenly return, you might see it there first.

    Happy training, Jaspaven!
