Hi! My friends and I are planning a trip for January 2026 and are want to stay on the skyliner route. I was wondering if you have any insight into when it will be closed for refurbishment. Thank you!

Welcome to planDisney, Kalea! We're so glad you found us! The only thing we love more than planning and taking our own Disney vacations is answering questions for other Disney Guests to help them plan theirs.

Like you, I'm a big fan of the Disney Skyliner, and choosing to stay in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel located on the Skyliner route is smart for a number of reasons. It allows for convenient transportation to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and it puts you in close proximity to a number of other Disney hotels, giving you more easy options for dining and shopping. Plus, it's almost like a ride in and of itself, Disney Theme Park ticket not required.

I'm also glad to hear that you're planning ahead because I can imagine how disappointing it would be to arrive for your trip while the Skyliner is closed for maintenance if you weren't aware ahead of time. I think you're planning to visit in January of 2027, and I can share that the Skyliner is scheduled for a short refurbishment from January 24, 2027 through January 30, 2027. I believe your arrival date coincides with this, so hopefully you have an opportunity to shift your dates slightly since it sounds like its availability is important to you.

As your trip gets closer, keep an eye out for announcements around dates for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which should be happening during your planned dates, based on when it's been held in the past. I find all of the EPCOT festivals to be irresistible, but this one, in particular is special because it's the shortest one. It's also unique because it's a celebration of all art forms. From visual arts to performing arts to culinary arts, the energy is unmatched. The Disney Parks Blog as well as official Disney social media are the best places to watch for breaking news.

Kalea, I hope you and your friends have a great trip. If you have any other planning questions, please visit us again here at planDisney.

    Let your dreams guide you!
