Do my friends have to have the My Disney Experience App in order for me to include them to get lightening lane etc? They are named in the reservation already, but showing up as not eligible to get the passes. Thanks

    Hi there Jaymi,

Welcome back to planDisney! Sounds like you're planning a pixie-dusted day full of Disney fun with your friends. That's amazing! Just last week my family had one of our most enjoyable Disney World vacations ever, thanks to the time savings of using the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It really freed us up to savor aspects of the park like never before. You've got a terrific plan, so let's see if we can get you all set up.

I'm able to see your feedback from your earlier planDisney question, so hopefully I can help address what you're looking for.

Your friends don't necessarily need to each have the My Disney Experience app installed, or their own Disney account, in order for you to make them a Lightning Lane Pass purchase and reservation. However, if you are staying off-property and they are using their own, individual theme park admission tickets (outside of your My Disney Experience reservation) you will need to enter and link those tickets to your My Disney Experience account before you can to purchase Lightning Lane in their behalf.

    Other things to verify:

    * Make sure everyone in your party has been added under "Friends & Family List." You can find this in the My Disney Experience app, under My Account.

    * Make sure everyone in your party has a valid theme park admission for the dates you are reserving. Park reservations may also be required, depending on the type of admission and the date of your visit. Please see theme park reservation requirements.

    * Verify you are inside your booking window. Eligibility to purchase Lightning Lane Passes begins at 7:00 am Eastern Time, 7 days before your arrival date for guests staying at a Disney resort; or 3 days prior to arrival date for offsite guests.

Bonus tip before I go! Mobile ordering in the app can also be a huge time saver, and help you skip those lunch or dinner lines. When I'm at an attraction but notice I'm starting to feel hangry... that's when I fire up My Disney Experience "Order Food", check out a few menus, and grab a "Next Arrival" time slot. It's so slick to march right in and have your food ready. Then back to the rides you go... woo hooo!

I hope this helps you get your friends all connected in your app, are you able to secure some awesome Lightning Lane passes... and have the BEST. DAY. EVER!! Please let me know if I can help with anything further.

    See ya real soon!
    Tami
