Elena Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! My friend is a socal resident, and annual pass holder. She wants to get me tickets to Disneyland, so I can visit with her, via the socal resident promotion. Is it okay if my personal ID is not SoCal, but hers is?

Greetings, Elena, and welcome to planDisney! A sweet reunion at the Happiest Place on Earth sounds wonderful!

Unfortunately, Elena, I have news that may come as a bibbidi bobbidi bummer. To use the Southern California Resident Ticket, you must show a government-issued photo ID at the entrance gate, like a California Driver's License or California ID, to prove eligible residency within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. While your friend (as a Southern California resident) could take advantage of this offer, you would need to purchase a standard theme park ticket. That said, check the Offers & Discounts page on the Disneyland website to see if any other deals may apply.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I’m wishing upon a star that you and your friend will have the chance to make unforgettable memories at the Disneyland Resort together! Visiting the parks with loved ones is such a joy, and there’s a way to make it even more special. Try creating a personalized checklist of experiences you’d love to share. To get you started, here are a few of my favorite things to do around Disneyland between attractions. You can add these to your own list and use the Disney Genie Service to plan a fun-filled day!

    - Get to the parks for "Rope Drop"
    - Have a Mickey Waffle
    - Watch the Disneyland Band perform
    - See a show at the Royal Theatre
    - Enjoy a Dole Whip in the Enchanted Tiki Room
    - Walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle
    - Ride one of the vehicles on Main Street, U.S.A.
    - Explore Tom Sawyer Island

Depending on which Magic Key pass your friend has, she may have unlimited free PhotoPass digital downloads. If that's the case, I suggest visiting the various PhotoPass locations where photographers can capture fantastic photos of you two. If her pass doesn't include that, Hakuna Matata! The PhotoPass is also available to purchase on its own or it's included as part of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Elena, I hope this information helps you weigh your options for visiting the Disneyland Resort. There are so many wonderful things coming in 2025. Take a look at the Disney Parks Blog to discover your ideal time to visit.

    See ya real soon!
