    A friend just returned from WDW and mentioned a hot air balloon ride at downtown disney. is this accurate? sounds like a lot of fun! thanks!!!

    Your friend must have experienced Characters in Flight, the new hot air balloon experience located at Downtown Disney. This is great way to get a view of the entire Disney area. I went on the balloon last month and was able to see parts of all four of the theme parks.

    The operation of the Characters in Flight hot air balloon attraction at Downtown Disney are:

    10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday - Thursday
    10:30 a.m. to midnight Friday - Saturday

    Characters in Flight is very dependent on appropriate weather conditions, so at times of moderate to high winds, the hours may be curtailed or suspended.
