Thanks for bringing your excellent question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katie! Last year, over 5,000 runners braved the pinnacle of all runDisney challenges, fondly known as the
Dopey Challenge. There's no doubt that there's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that go into those 48.6 magical miles!
I'm so glad you are sharing this fantastic experience with a friend. Several years ago, I completed my first runDisney race with my best friend, and it was one of my favorite Walt Disney World trips I've ever taken (it's also what got me hooked on runDisney races)! Being an Annual Passholder myself, I enjoy having the
perk of unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. As long as you and your running buddy are linked on
My Disney Experience through the
Family & Friends list, your race photos will show up in her PhotoPass account. Keep in mind, however, that you will see a watermark when viewing your photos in your own account, and you will have to pay to download them. She is always welcome to download the images herself and then send them to you via email.
Make sure to
ask her to allow photo sharing with you (on her Family & Friends list, she will need to select your name and choose "Edit" to access the photo-sharing control). Then, to
link your race photos to her account, login at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com, select "Link Photos," and enter your 16-digit code, which is the 11-digit RaceID, plus your five-digit bib number. In my experience, the photos have appeared in my account within a few hours, but it could take up to 48 hours.
Katie, you'll be able to easily spot the
runDisney PhotoPass Photographers on the course by looking for their bright green hats and tents. Just remember to run, sweat, smile, repeat! Best of luck!
