I have a friend who has decided to do a last minute trip. She is trying to get dining reservations for one or 2 character meals. Having a hard time! Any suggestions? What are the chances of getting in at a walk up at Tusker House or Hollywood & V

Hi, Jana! I would tell her to check the website everyday for cancellations.  As Guests' plans change, so do their dining reservations.  You never know when an opening might occur.  I would be especially vigilant in the days right before the trip.  Since most dining experiences are pre-paid or have a credit card guarantee, there may be some openings in the day or two before the day she wants want to dine.  A cancellation policy applies and will result in charges if the Guest cancels with insufficient notice. If Guests' plans change, there will be cancellations to avoid paying for a meal they aren't attending. If she's still needing reservations when she arrives, tell her to seek help from the Guest Services at her Resort. I would try walking up as an absolute last ditch effort.  Walk-ups are very risky, in my opinion. There are often no availabilities, and that makes for very unhappy kids who don't understand why they can't go in and see the characters. I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that she gets the reservations she wants. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
