My friend and I have been checking since March to book a reservation for Savi’s Workshop. We can’t get one which is unfortunate because it’s his first time and we’re celebrating my birthday. Is there a way we can buy the light saber and or make it later?

Hi there, Kasey! Greetings from everyone here at planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is unlike any theme park experience! This fully immersive land allows Guests to begin their own adventure in a galaxy far, far away. On the distant planet of Batuu, you will be able to explore the Black Spire Outpost. Here, you can taste the local cuisine, shop at the exotic bazaar, and even pilot the Millennium Falcon on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! You simply won’t believe all of the excitement a day at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge holds!

Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers is an incredible experience in which you build your own custom lightsaber with the help of the elusive “Gatherers”. This is a unique interactive experience and is a “must-do” for many Star Wars fans. Unfortunately, this means that reservations for this experience are incredibly popular and tend to go quickly! That being said, I do recommend continuing to keep an eye on reservations before and even during your trip. It is not uncommon for last-minute cancellations to take place and you may be lucky enough to grab one in that situation!

If you are unable to make a reservation, you can also build a lightsaber at Tatooine Traders outside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Another option is to build a “Legacy Lightsaber” that is modeled after famous wielders from both the Jedi Order and the Dark Side! Parts for these sabers can be found Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or at Star Wars Trading Post in Disney Springs.

Regardless of your choice, I hope you have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World Resort! And, may the force be with you as you continue to search for the perfect experiences!
