We had a friend who I brought her ticket for. She got sick and couldn’t go last august. Can we tx her ticket to this year of us going?

Hey Howdy Hey Arren and welcome to planDisney!

I am so sorry to hear that your friend was not able to make it on your Magical vacation last August. I would be happy to help walk you through the process of how to recover this ticket. Let's walk through some steps to get you pointed in the right direction.

The first thing you are going to want to do is to check to see if you still have access to this ticket in your My Disney Experience account. Once you log in, go the the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and look for the heading "My Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" which you will click on. Once you do, you should see the tickets you still have that are unused and the party member they are assigned to. You should also see an expiration date with the ticket and the option to "Change Ticket" which you can click on to change the date of its usage. On the far right, you should also see a drop-down menu to reassign the ticket to another member in your party, or you, if you were the one that purchased it. Just know tickets are priced according to the day and season so you might have to pay the difference between the value of the ticket and the price of the new date. That would be a super easy process to do and you would be able to do that yourself from your My Disney Experience account. If the ticket is already expired or you want to move it past the expiration date, this is a different story.

If the ticket you want to access is expired you will not see it on your My Disney Experience account. Likewise, if you do see your ticket and you want to change it to a date outside of the expiration window, both of these scenarios might involve the same process of calling Disney at (407) 934-7639 and a Cast Member will be able to help you out. In the case of an expired ticket, if you have the confirmation number from the email that was sent on the initial purchase, this would help expedite things a ton. In most cases, Cast Members can see an unused, expired ticket and have the value of it applied to a new ticket. You might still see a charge in the difference between what you paid initially for the ticket and the new amount when you want to book the ticket.

Best of luck moving forward and getting your ticket situation resolved. I hope these steps help make this process a little easier to navigate. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Nick
