Ahoy Lucille,
Thanks for sailing back with another question! I'm sure you must be so excited about your upcoming cruise on
Disney Wish. My family had the opportunity to enjoy this gorgeous ship over our April break, so I know you're in for a real treat from the minute you step aboard!
I typically try to disconnect on our
Disney Cruise Line vacations and enjoy my time without the interruptions of social media notifications or emails. However, I needed to stay in contact with a friend about an important purchase during our last cruise and opted to
purchase a Wi-Fi package for the first time. I had three different options to choose from, and each was available for a 24-hour period or for the length of my sailing. I also had the option to purchase access for one device, or up to 4 devices per stateroom for an added fee. Let's dive in!
The "Stay Connected" package is the lowest-priced option and will give you access to some social media sites and messaging. I opted for this one so I could connect with my friend over Facebook Messenger during my sailing. The next package "Basic Surf" will include access to email, websites, and voice calls in addition to social media sites. The "Premium Surf" package gives you all the features of the lower priced tiers as well as video calling, music streaming, and social media sites with enhanced video. Keep in mind that video streaming is not available on any of the packages at this time. Guests in Concierge will have access to complimentary internet service depending on their specific accommodations. You can
contact a Cast Member by phone for more details or if you have specific questions about any of the package offerings.
You'll be able to purchase any of the internet options from your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App so be sure to download that in advance of your sailing. I would like to mention that the purchase of a Wi-Fi package is
not required to use the app during your cruise. You'll
connect to the ship's complimentary Wi-Fi to view daily activity schedules, menus, character meets, and even stay connected to your travel party through the app's
chat feature. You also won't need to purchase a Wi-Fi package if you are only planning to text using iMessage or WhatsApp while at sea.
Lucille, I hope this helped. If we can answer any other questions please don't hesitate to come back and let us know. I'm wishing you a most magical sailing!
"Sea" you real soon,
Amy
