    Are there any free, inexpensive excursions in Nassau or Castaway Cay for our family (two five year old boys)?

    Ahoy Pamela,

    There are many free and inexpensive activities to do while visiting these ports of call!

    On Nassau, one of the activities my family enjoys is exploring the area that is in walking distance from the port.  On Bay Street, which is about a block inland, you will find  the main shopping hub. We enjoy strolling around taking in the sights and sounds of the island and shopping for souvenirs.  After about two hours, we head back  for lunch and less crowded playtime on deck!

    Indulging in a beach day on Disney's Private Island Castaway Cay is the perfect ending to your magical cruise!  With it being the last day of your vacation, I can't think of a better way to make memories then by playing in the crystal blue water and creating sand castles with your boys! (Sand toys can be checked out at Scuttle's Cove.) 

    There is also a Pirate Scavenger Hunt activity to be completed on the island. Your Personal Navigator will provide the information you need to pick up your packet of items the day before you arrive on Castaway Cay.   You can start your hunt as soon as your disembark.   

    Float and boat rentals are available for a small fee.  If your boys are comfortable in the water, snorkeling equipment is also inexpensive. My kids enjoy the waterslides and water cannons at the Pelican Plunge.

    Since the boat is docked for 7-8 hours, also consider having some adult time.  Scuttle's Cove is the kids' club on the island, and there are great activities planned for the entire day.  My kids love to check-in and play for several hours while my husband and I escape over to the adults-only beach, Serenity Bay for some peace and quiet!
