Brigitte,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Disney does not send out park maps or other planning information like DVDs any longer, but what they do offer is a wide array of online tools to help with the planning process.
But it sounds like you are looking for great preview videos to get your son excited for the trip, right? Here are some ideas of how to get him revved up for the fun!
Disney Parks BlogThis official Blog often links to some of the best videos of the parks and hotels. The
Disney Parks Blog is also a good channel to start watching before your trip. It is your best place to get last minute information about new arrivals and openings at the parks, so that you get the most out of your magical vacation.
Disney+I know that not everyone has a Disney+ account, but if you do have one there are a variety of Walt Disney World preview pieces available. They recently grouped them into a park collection, titled
Disney Parks Collection. You can find it by searching under the
"All Collections" button on the main page. I have to admit that one of my favorites is the
Disney Parks Sunrise series. It may not be what would get your son excited, but it is one-hour long video reels of the parks, showing them "waking up" in the early morning hours.
YouTubeIf you want to experience some of the attractions from home, there are a number of unofficial and official YouTube channels with attraction and resort tours. I don't choose to watch the ride ones, because I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I love the resort tours. The Tim Tracker is a fun one to watch with my kids, as he has some fun takes on the resort amenities.
BONUS TIPMy kids and I love to have the printed park maps all spread out as we plan our days. While they are not videos, my kids love to see where everything is in relation to each other. If you would like to get the current park maps, the fastest and easiest way to get them is to print them out from the website. While the interactive resort map on the website is fantastic for getting a feel for where everything can be found, you really cannot print it out. You can find printable versions of the actual in-park maps for the
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park by clicking on the guide map link at the bottom of the respective web pages for each park.
I hope that this helps.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
