Welcome aboard, Michael! Disney is the best cruise line for children and parents alike!
I think you will be thrilled with the offerings of activities each day of your cruise for families, children on their own and parents on their own. Each day you will receive a Personal Navigator which is the schedule of events and activities throughout the ship. Be sure to bring a few colored highlighters to map out what looks fun for each of you!
Your four year old will love spending time with the counselors in the
Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab, both of which are for kids from three to 12-years old. The majority of time in the Club and Lab is secured programming, meaning kids and counselors only. There will be a few times throughout your cruise when they hold Open House hours where parents get to stay with the kids to join in on the fun.
Some of the activities to expect there are Flubber Making, Piston Cup Race (with soap race cars), Story Time with Belle, Mouseketeer Training with Mickey, and so many more! The best part is that there is no additional fee to be in the Youth Activities!
So, rest assured that your little one will be happily entertained while you sneak off for some adults-only time. If you haven't already, I suggest considering reservations for
Palo, the Adult Exclusive restaurant onboard. Though there is an additional fee of about $20 per person to dine there, it is highly worth it! The food is amazing and the ambience is very romantic.
Have fun as you plan your magical Alaskan cruise, Michael!
