Hi Lisa! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another great question!
Guests are absolutely welcome to take photos in
Magic Kingdom Park prior to the official park opening time. While the rides and attractions will not be open yet, Guests may enter the gates and make their way up Main Street, U.S.A. for the opening ceremonies, called
Let the Magic Begin. This welcome show takes place on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle 5 minutes prior to park open every day. You are correct; if the stated park opening time is 8:00 am, Guests may enter the park as early as 7:00 am. Along the way, Guests are welcome to browse the shops, grab a bite to eat and a favorite Starbucks beverage at
Main Street Bakery, or stop for some photos. You will find
Disney PhotoPass photographers in the entrance plaza in front of the train station, as well as various locations on Main Street, U.S.A. The walkways to the various lands will be roped off until the
Let the Magic Begin has ended. I have attached
this map of Magic Kingdom Park to hopefully give you a better idea of where guests are permitted to go prior to official opening time. The circle area in the center of the park, affectionately known as "the hub", is as far as Guests may go.
Lisa, I hope my explanation was clear. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to visit the Moms Panel again. We are always happy to help.
Have a wonderful visit!
Anne Marie
