Can I use a 20 foot camper in a pop up site? Also…would I be allowed to park my truck at the campsite? I read the sites are 10x25 for “equipment “. Does the term “equipment “ include the truck in the 25 feet limit. Or is there also room for the truck ?

    Hiya pal!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for bringing us your Disney Ft. Wilderness camping question today. Can I say something crazy? Going camping and going to Walt Disney World are probably my two favorite things... but I've NEVER done both of them at the same time! I absolutely love your magical plan, so this was a fun one to research. Let me fill you in on some details I found out about the campsite options, to help you decide what will work best for your stay.

At Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the "Tent or Pop-Up Campsites" are specifically designed for smaller setups like tents, pop-up campers, or vans. I checked out a map specifying the layout, and chatted with a Cast Member. A 20-foot camper might be too large for these sites, as they are not equipped to handle larger RVs or trailers. They also do not have sewer hookups.

For a 20-foot camper, you would likely need to book a "Full Hook-Up Campsite" or a "Preferred Campsite", which are designed to accommodate larger vehicles. Included are great amenities like a charcoal barbecue grill, picnic table, cable TV connection, and complimentary high-speed WiFi Internet access. Plus... these larger sites offer water, electricity, and sewer connections. The Full Hook-Up Campsites include a paved driveway that can accommodate both your camper plus a vehicle, which will mean room to park your truck at your site. If needed, one additional vehicle may be parked in the Resort’s main parking lot. I do recommend reserving this larger site. Then you will have peace of mind knowing there will be plenty of space for your rig once you arrive, and you won't run into any unexpected issues or restrictions when trying to check in.

One little dose of pixie-dust before I go... did you know that throughout 2025, guests staying at a Disney Resort (including camping at Ft. Wilderness!) receive free admission to a Disney Water Park on arrival day? What a splashtastic perk, and fun way to kick off your adventure!

Wishing upon a star for you to have the most magical camping trip ever! Please visit me again at planDisney if I can help with any additional questions you may have. I love to help with planning details so you can make wonderful memories at Walt Disney World!

The wilderness must be explored! Caw, caw - RAWR!
