Hi, Jenny; welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
The biggest benefit of
Flexible Date Tickets is the ability to begin using them any time between the date of purchase and Dec. 31, 2019. You are correct, though--after the initial
Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park visit all days must be used within 14 days. While you can upgrade your ticket to something like an
Annual Pass (which is good for a year from its activation--not necessarily a calendar year) or add features like Park Hopper,
tickets are nonrefundable and nonexchangeable and no refunds will be given for unused days.
Although tickets are nonrefundable,
if you haven’t used your ticket yet you can transfer it to someone else. So if you have a friend or another member of your family who could use your Flexible Date 10-day ticket within a 14-day window before Dec. 31, 2019, you could transfer your ticket to that person and then
purchase a 5-day ticket for yourself for your October vacation. Once you’ve used that Flexible Date Ticket, though, it cannot be transferred to anyone else.
If you purchased your tickets prior to Oct. 16, 2018, the expiration policy is the same as it was at the time of purchase. If you have questions about that policy, you can call the
Existing Tickets helpline to speak with a Cast Member.
I hope you are able to enjoy your visit to
Walt Disney World Resort this Fall, Jenny! With the opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the new
Disney Skyliner system set to make its debut soon,
Now More Than Ever, it’s the perfect time to visit.
Amy
