we are flying into vancover a day before or cruise., do they take U.S dollars or do we need to exchage for canadian money.

Welcome aboard, Lisa! Are you excited to set sail to Alaska with Disney Cruise Line? I bet you are, as that particular itinerary is a very magical one with so much to explore!

As with any port outside the US, you will find that some places will accept US Dollars, however many smaller shops and restaurants may only accept the local currency. Credit cards are widely accepted, so that is an easy option. It wouldn't hurt to have a bit of the local currency on hand just to be sure. ATM's are usually the best ways to get cash outside the US. Though there might be a small fee, it is usually less than the fees you'll encounter exchanging money at a bank. Also, don't forget to let your bank and credit card company know that you'll be traveling so that they don't put a hold on your card for suspicious activity if you try to use it out of the states.

Have fun as you continue to plan your cruise, Lisa. I'm happy to help with any further questions you might have!
