We will be flying in May 26 at 4:00. Could you suggest the top 3 parks we should visit? WE are bringing my 8 year old son. This is his first time to come. I have made reservations for RAinforest CAfe and Chef MIckey. We will only have 3 full days.”
Hi, Rhonda! If it's your very first time to Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom is a must see! This is the crown jewel of Walt Disney World, and you'll find not only all of the classic attractions, but restaurants, the most phenomenal fireworks, and fabulous parades. When people think of Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom is usually what comes to mind first. The first time we brought my nephew when he was four, he was surprised the plane didn't land on Main Street, USA!
At this age, EPCOT is probably a good second choice. There's a little bit of education tied up in all the entertainment, and he'll be able to participate in some hands on activities at Innoventions, and he'll be able to explore different countries by visiting the pavilions through the World Showcase. My girls also love the nightly Illuminations: Reflections of Earth show.
The third day could go a couple of ways. If you feel like you haven't fully explored the other two parks, you might choose to revisit one of those. I have three daughters, and if the decision were given to them, I'd have one that would go to Animal Kingdom, one to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the other would go back to EPCOT.
If your son is very interested in animals, conservation, and having a good time, Animal Kingdom is a great option. Some popular attractions there include Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjaro Safari. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, my girls love Toy Story Midway Mania, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Tours and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. You might want to run down the list of things to see and determine what most appeals to your son.
I hope he has an absolutely magical first visit!
