Ahoy, Kaitlin!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this excellent question about transportation for your upcoming cruise. If you decide to book your air as part of your cruise package, you can arrive early or extend your stay once your ship returns. There are a few advantages to booking through the
Disney Cruise Line Air Program including letting Disney take care of any issues that may arise if there is an airline-related delay, ability to make changes or cancel either 75 or 90 days before departure (check your specific itinerary for exact date), make special requests and not have to pay for your airfare until the balance of your vacation is due in full (more time to save!).
Something else you will want to consider when deciding about a pre-or post cruise stay is ground transportation to and from the hotel to the port and hotel accommodations in the departure port city. Disney Cruise Line makes that easy by partnering with hotels in their departure ports and offering ground transportation for purchase both before and after the cruise. You can be transported to the partnering hotel or to the airport once you disembark. If you are sailing out of Disney's homeport, Port Canaveral, you have two options to consider. The first option is to stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at the Orlando International Airport. This is a great choice since you don't have far to go once your plane lands! The hotel offers luggage pick-up on departure morning from your hotel room before you are transported by your motor coach to the port. The second option is a magical stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. Ground transportation to the port runs from each resort and just like the Hyatt, luggage is picked up right from your room.
