Welcome to planDisney! I'm always excited to help a fellow Floridian interested in becoming an annual passholder at Walt Disney World.
We've been passholders for almost 30 years, so we obviously love the value the passes bring to our Disney experience. As a Florida resident, you are eligible for special discounted pricing, and you can
spread the cost of your passes over 12 months interest-free.
There are
three passes available specifically for Florida residents: the Pixie Pass, valid on most weekdays; the Pirate Pass, with blockout dates during some peak and holiday periods; and the Sorcerer's Pass, which has limited holiday blockout dates. (I'm a Sorcerer's passholder.) The Incredi-pass is available to all guests, but is still eligible for the Florida resident monthly payment plan..
Passholders receive a
host of benefits. One of the best, in my opinion, is free standard parking at all of the theme parks. You also receive
discounts on merchandise, dining, resort stays and certain special experiences in the Enchanting Extras Collection.
Annual passes allow you to park hop and give you access to exclusive passholder merchandise and perks, like the occasional passholder magnet giveaways.
You will need to show proof of Florida residency (a drivers license, state-issued ID or Florida-based military ID are the best proof) to activate your pass, and it will be valid for one year from the date of first use.
On most days, you will need to make a reservation to enter your first theme park of the day. I've never had an issue getting a reservation, especially if I make it in advance. For impromptu visits, I've made same-day reservations on the way to the parks.
Even if one or two parks aren't available on a specific day, you will almost always find capacity at another park, and you can switch parks later in the day.
As you might expect, park reservations tend to be most limited during the holidays and on the days that a new ride or attraction opens. So if you are planning your initial visit in early November, I would expect no issues getting the reservation you want.
