how to get a florida resident ticket?

    Hey howdy hey, Paige,

I’m so glad you brought your rootin’ tootin’ of a good time question to us here at planDisney! It must be wonderful to have Walt Disney World Resort practically in your backyard! It looks like you are heading there today, so let’s get dashing like Slinky Dog to answer your question!

Currently, Florida Residents have several options to purchase tickets for amazing prices. If you are looking to visit frequently, you may consider purchasing one of several different Annual Passes, which make each visit more magical. If you plan to visit for just a few days, currently there are some great Florida Resident Special Summer offers. I recommend that you read all the terms and conditions for any of these ticket options because some are subject to blockout dates.

In order to purchase Florida Resident tickets or passes, for each ticket purchased for an adult, you need to provide proof of Florida residency. There is a complete list of acceptable documents found on the Walt Disney World website.

I’m happy to share that there are “Lotso” ways you can purchase a ticket! You can do so on the Walt Disney World Resort website or in the My Disney Experience App. You can also purchase tickets in person at the ticket booths outside each of the theme parks or you can stop by Disney Springs and purchase your tickets at the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. Remember, for any ticket you purchase as a Florida Resident, you will need proof of residency as listed above.

Theme Park Reservations are currently required to enter the parks, so I recommend you check the Theme Park Availability calendar before you purchase your tickets (again, be sure to check for blockout dates on the ticket you are looking to purchase). Once you purchase your tickets and they are added to your My Disney Experience account, you will need to make a Theme Park Reservation

All this talk about playing in the parks has me thinking of Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It sounds delicious and a like barrel of monkeys level of fun! I hope you have a chance to rustle up some grub there before too long!

Paige, if you have any other questions about how to experience the special discounts and perks of being a Florida Resident, stop back by and I’ll be happy to help!

You’ve got a friend in me,
    Shannon
