Hello Kendelynn!
Thanks for bringing your question our way. I'm excited that you plan to add your son to the Annual Passholder family. I'm a Passholder too, and have loved creating special memories in the parks for the past two years. You are sure to enjoy many more magical days together in the coming months!
Ticket upgrades are possible in many cases, but there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind. First, if your son used one of his admissions on a date considered a blockout date on the
Annual Pass tier you plan to purchase, you would not be able to complete the upgrade. The most common issue would be when upgrading to a Disney Pixie Dust Pass which is blocked out on Saturdays, Sundays, and other select dates. If you've already used his ticket to visit on a weekend, you'll need to select a different Annual Pass tier to move forward with the upgrade. If you plan to upgrade to a different pass tier, just be sure to cross-check the dates you've already visited against the
blockout calendar.Second, your son's Annual Pass usage window will be backdated to the first date he initially used his 4-day ticket. Let's say he first visited on April 15, but you don't complete the upgrade until September 19. His Annual Pass would be active from April 15, 2024, through April 14, 2025,
not beginning on the date of upgrade.
I reached out to a Cast Member who confirmed that you should be able to make
monthly payments on the remaining balance of an eligible Annual Pass as long as you have
valid proof of Florida residency. The monthly payment will depend on the value of his original ticket as that will apply to the down payment cost of the pass. You'll need to complete this process in person at the main entrance of any theme park or at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.
I hope this was helpful, Kendelynn. If you have additional questions come back and let us know or feel free to
reach out to a Cast Member by phone for assistance.
Magic and memories,
Amy
