Can a Florida resident discount be used for family out of state, and not be with them at the parks?

    Hey there, Casey!

Walt Disney World is awfully generous with Florida resident discounts. There's a pretty amazing ticket offer going on right now.

In order to use a Florida resident discounted ticket, a guest must show proof of Florida residency, unless they are under 18 years old. They will accept a Florida driver's license, a state ID card, or a military ID from a Florida base as proof, and with those items, you can be verified online. They also accept things like a mortgage or bank statement from within the past two months for verification in person.

Anyone over the age of 18 using the discounted tickets may be asked to show proof of ID as they enter the theme park to prove their Florida residency, even if the proof of residency has been done online. This means, unfortunately, that even if the Florida resident was with the guest as they entered the parks, if the guest is over 18, they would need their own proof of Florida residency.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to show proof of Florida residency, so someone living in Florida could purchase theme park tickets with a Florida resident discount for them. This is a great option for Florida grandparents or aunts and uncles who want to bring little ones into the parks with them.

Don't forget, Casey, whatever type of ticket you purchase, you do still need a theme park reservation to go into the parks. Make them as soon as you know which days you'd like to go.

Thanks so much for your question, Casey! If I can help any further, just let me know.
