Hello there, Amber!
Welcome back to planDisney! As Maz Kanata once told Rey, “The Force, it’s calling to you.” And it’s telling you to visit
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Your completed lightsaber will range from 41 to 44 inches long, and you will receive a lightsaber carrying case with your purchase that measures approximately 50 inches in length. Before you travel home, you could detach the lightsaber blade from the hilt to help with packing. The blade measures 31 inches long and hilts can be 10 to 13 inches long. I have often seen travelers stowing their lightsabers in the overhead compartments of the airplane with ease.
Your droid from
Droid Depot will come with a box to carry it in. A Cast Member shared that this box is hexagon-shaped and is approximately 18 inches tall and 11 inches deep. The droids can vary from 7 inches to 13 inches tall, depending on if you build a BB-Series or R-Series. When we previously built a droid we flattened the box to fit into our suitcase, and don’t tell Rey, but we removed our BB-Series droid’s head to help fit the parts in our luggage!
Your other option is to ship your lightsaber and droid home. You can speak to the Cast Members at
Savi’s Workshop and the Droid Depot to arrange shipping. I wasn’t able to confirm pricing, but perhaps you can ask them to combine the lightsaber and droid into one shipment. My fellow panelist,
Prince S., has a helpful answer regarding
tracking your shipment from Walt Disney World Resort to your home in Canada.
Don’t forget to visit
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue on your visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Amber. Your Starspeeder trip will include
new stories and characters beginning in 2024, so keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for updates on when those adventures will begin. I hope this was helpful, Amber. If you have any future questions as you plan your visit,
please send me a message at planDisney!
May the Force be with you!
