Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Emily!
With your flight arriving at 8:00am you will arrive at your resort around 10:00am. This will give you plenty of time to have a practically perfect Disney day. So I suggest checking in at your resort then heading out to one of the many locations at Walt Disney World which doesn't require a theme park ticket.
With virtually the entire day at your disposal, I would head straight to Downtown Disney. From creating their own rollercoaster track at DisneyQuest to free chocolate tasting at Ghirardelli's Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop to taking flight over Walt Disney World on Characters In Flight, there is so much to see and do there that your boys will surely love. Not to mention all the fun shopping experience you will enjoy.
After getting your fill of food and fun at Downtown Disney, I suggest taking Disney Bus Transportation to the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. From here you can spend the evening doing what my family calls the "Monorail Tour" by jumping on the Resort Monorail, an attraction in itself, and visiting each of the resorts surrounding the Seven Seas Lagoon which in addition to the Grand Floridian include Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
To end your evening make your last stop Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. At the Polynesian you can grab a quick bite at Captain Cook's or a famous Dole Whip from the Pineapple Lanai then head out to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes fireworks.
When the fireworks are over you can jump back on the Resort Monorail, take it over to the Magic Kingdom then head to the bus stops where you can take the bus to your resort. By then your luggage should already be in your room and you are ready to get a good night's sleep before heading to the theme parks the next day.
I hope you have the most *MAGICAL* vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
