Hey there, Beth! We're so glad you're a fan of the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Flame Tree Barbecue is located in the Discovery Island section of
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, but even if you're not sure where that is, just follow your nose! Known for their smoky meats and sweet and spicy barbecue sauce, this is a carnivore's paradise (just don't let those lions on the
Kilimanjaro Safaris know)!
Flame Tree Barbecue is a great value on the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, especially since many of the meals are large enough to share. I ate here a few years ago with my family, and my husband and I split the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler. I have a confession to make...I am not a fan of baked beans, coleslaw, or anything with mayonnaise, so I understand where you're coming from! When I asked if we could substitute the sides with fries, I was told that we, unfortunately, could not, but they allowed us to order two sides of beans and skip the coleslaw altogether. Honestly, the beans were pretty good, and my Prince Charming gave them two thumbs up! Your mileage may vary, so it never hurts to ask when you arrive.
I do have one more recommendation for you, which is to use a snack credit to order the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese. These are absolutely delicious, but if you're more in the mood for plain fries, you can also order them with a snack credit. However, anything is yummy when you have a lovely view of
Expedition Everest!
I hope this gives you some food for thought, Beth! If you have any more questions, remember, we're all ears!
