Hello there Lee, and welcome to planDisney! There's no better place than Walt Disney World to celebrate a special event... so let's talk about how to sprinkle some pixie-dust on the festivities.
If you would like to add a note to your Disney Resort reservation ahead of time, you could do so by calling the
Disney Hotel Reservations number. Alternatively, you could wait until you arrive to check in and swing by the front desk to chat with a Cast Member. This is a nice option, as they will also have a supply of free Disney Celebration buttons for you to choose from! I remember fondly the multi-generation vacation we took with my parents when celebrating their wedding anniversary. My dad proudly wore his "Happy Anniversary" button every single day of our trip... and loved all the well wishes he received from Cast Members and other guests!
While there are no guarantees, I also recommend mentioning your special celebration when checking in to your advance dining reservation. We have had some fun surprises at a couple of different Disney Dining venues, again when celebrating an anniversary.
My favorite recommendation is ordering something from the
Magical Floral and Gifts to arrange an in-room celebration! They offer wonderful, personalized gifts and surprises... and the best part is, they can access your Disney Resort room, and have it waiting for you and your party ahead of time. I've done this on occasion when my family was celebrating a special occasion during our Disney World vacation. When my kids were young, they were convinced it was Mickey Mouse himself leaving us a special tote filled with Disney treats in our room!
The Disney website also mentions a few additional options for
celebrating a special occasion, including how to order a Mickey Celebration Cake.
Lee, I hope this helps give you some ideas for how to have an extra special celebration while at Disney World. Please feel free to
visit us at planDisney with any additional questions.
Have an amazing vacation!
Tami
