We are our first-time travelers to WDW 9/20-27. We have the DDP, & are planning at least 3 character meals for our 6-year old princess. In your expert opinion, is breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Akershus the best option? Also any other suggestions?

    Abby,

Unless your princess is a very adventurous eater, I'd suggest the breakfast.  Lunch and dinner feature traditional Norwegian food (think cold fish) and my girls, even my eats-everything-in-sight little piggy, turned up their noses.

Breakfast is more American fare and is excellent.  We usually have pastries, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs,  potatoes, bacon, sausage, and biscuits.  There were also juices, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

I would consider bringing along a princess dress for this meal.  Most of the girls wear a special costume, which I didn't realize the first time we went and my daughter was disappointed.  Now we bring one from home and pull it on over their park clothes.  I use a large ziploc bag to seal it up after the meal is over, and it's small and tidy to fit into a backpack.

A couple of other general suggestions for the time of your trip... Consider attending a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  They are SO much fun and a real highlight of my families' fall trips.  (There is one on Friday 9/26 while you are there)  Also, keep an eye out for the Moms Panelists!  Several of us will be there that weekend to run the Expedition Everest 5K race and we would be so excited to meet you!
