I am a first-time mom and our daughter will be 15 months old when she attends for the first time next September. What should I be thinking of ahead of time, and how does Disney handle little ones in their restaurants while parents are on the dining plan?

Hi, Jenn!  Congratulations on being a first time Mommy!  As a veteran in the field, I think it's the best job ever!

Let's tackle the restaurant question first.  You will find that virtually all of the Walt Disney World restaurants are kid friendly.  Many of the restaurants are in the theme parks, and you'll find kids of all ages dining there.  The only restaurant with an age restriction is Victoria and Albert's, and at 15 months old, you will have the option to either feed her from your plates or purchase her a meal of her own.  You'll know closer to the time which will be the better option for your family.  Being on the dining plan won't impact what you and her dad do in terms of meals.

Things to think of ahead of time, especially since you are going in September, are to make sure you have things purchased like sunscreen and a hat for the baby.  Depending on where you live, those things may not be readily available in the stores like they are at the start of summer.  You can purchase them once you are at Walt Disney World, but it's nice to have your own.  Have a sippy cup or two with you, and pack extra diapers.  I always made sure my girls had plenty to drink so they didn't get dehydrated, and that made for a few more wet diapers than I might have had at home.

Anything you might forget, you will find down there, and check out the baby care centers for a nice cool place to do a diaper change or a feeding.  I also bring Shout wipes, and some infant Tylenol with me whenever I travel.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
