My first WDW trip is in August with my 7yo. I have ADRs for 8:00 AM and 5:30. My plan is to tour early, take a break from 1-5 then go back to the parks after dinner but I'm using Disney transportation. Will we get some rest time? Any idea how much?

    Hi Sharon!

How exciting that you are planning your first trip to Walt Disney World (WDW)! You are going to have an amazing time with your 7-year old! You can absolutely make a touring plan to ensure you get rest in the middle of the day.

The first trick is to ensure that you arrive early to the park. Since you have an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for 8:00 a.m. you are ahead of the game! Make sure to leave early and allow plenty of time to drive to the park, park your car and walk to the restaurant. Immediately after you eat, hop on the attractions you want to experience first. Then you can plan to leave the park around 12:30 to get to your car and back to your resort by 1:00 p.m. For your ADR at 5:30, make sure you leave at least one hour prior to your reservation time to make sure you allow enough time to get there.

You will probably have about three hours of rest in between drive time to and from the parks. I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
