First visit. My husband and I will be there in Sept. We need to carry insulin into the park. We have a cooler back pack but we know you can’t bring loose ice in your bag. What are our options for keeping it cool other than storing meds at first aid areas?

    Hi Tina,
Thanks for submitting your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad you stopped by.

You are correct about the rules for cold items changing recently at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Rest assured, you may bring ice to keep your husband's insulin cool as you walk around during the day; the new rules stipulate that it may not be loose inside the cooler. Please be sure to bring zipper-type plastic bags to put the ice into prior to entering the park. Disney also recommends freezer packs to keep items cold. The rules change is simply to streamline the security process prior to entering the park.

Ice is also available at any time from quick-service dining locations located throughout the park if needed.

If you have special dietary requests, you may always ask to speak with the chef in any restaurant to address your dietary needs.

Tina, please come back and see us with any additional planning questions.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
