Our first trip to WDW is in Feb 2010. Our son will be 5 yrs, 9 mo and our daughter 2 yr, 11 mo. I am struggling picking a disney property hotel. Will it be too cool to use hotel pool that time of year? Any suggestions

    Hi Kim,

Picking a resort is always a tough choice as there are so many wonderful options at the Walt Disney World Resorts.

With children this little, you are going to need a stroller to tour the parks. With this in mind, you may want to consider a resort which you can minimize travelling on a bus. It can be tricky to juggle a tired child, stroller and gear on your way home from a day in the park.

The Boardwalk Inn or Yacht and Beach Clubs would allow you to tour two parks without having to get on a bus. Any of the monorail resorts, would allow you the same option as well. I like the Polynesian on the monorail as I stayed there for the firs time this winter.

If these are out of your budget, try Port Orleans Riverside. This is an easy 15-20 minute ride on a bus to most parks. It is sweet and charming and a family favorite.

As for the pools, all Disney pools are outdoors and heated to 82 degrees. While it was in the low 80's in December, my children went swimming but not me. I have been to Disney in January and it has been as low as 60 during the day. I always check with an online weather service about temperature to plan accordingly.

    Have a magical trip!
