First trip to WDW Dec.2014-better to eat at crystal palace or do the candlelight processional dinner package? We have dining plan but have already planned out all but one of our sit down credits for the trip. Thanks for the advice!!!

    Hey Kimberly!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom Panel!

How excited to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! I know it can be a little overwhelming that's why we are here to help you.

If I were to decide between the two options you mentioned I would pick the Crystal Palace for a several of reason:

    • You are arriving at the same time as Disney is beginning a slow down after the Thanksgiving holiday rush. Therefore, the Candlelight Processional dinner package will not be necessary to guarantee a seat. I was there at approximately the same time last year and the Candlelight Processional wasn't full.
    • If you make an early reservation at the Crystal Palace you are allowed to enter the Magic Kingdom prior to the park opening. It is a fun experience to walk down Main Street, U. S. A. virtually alone. This is also a great time of day to get postcard quality pictures of Cinderella Castle.
    • Crystal Palace is a character dining experience where you get to meet and greet Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

I hope this helps your planning. If you have any other questions please come back and see me.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
