Our first trip to WDW is coming up fast, Jan. 2015! I'm just curious as to what would be a good amount of spending money to bring with us? Our hotel, plane tickets, park tickets (with park hopper) and we have a dining plan all paid for.

    Hi Dana,

Your trip is coming up fast! January will be here soon and you have everything covered!

As for spending money, this is really a personal decision. My husband and I used to budget $50 for a week trip for each daughter to spend while there. This allowed them to have one big souvenir or several smaller ones. It also taught them about budgeting without them knowing it.

As for my husband and I, we generally do not buy a lot of souvenirs. T-shirts are around $20 and sweatshirts are closer to $40. If we spend $200, on a trip it is because we found a piece of art or too many Vinylmations or Mouse Ears to purchase.

One final thought is around food. While you mention you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you do not say which one. You may want to bring extra for those souvenir popcorn buckets, extra drinks (especially the adult ones) or snacks that are not covered.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
