    our first trip to disney-12/19/09-12/24. we're not getting there til 4 the first night and going eat and avoid the parks. suggestions on where to dine with a 3 year old? also how far in advance are extra magic hours known? want 2 plan parks accordingly

    Hi Marsha,

    In my opinion the perfect place for your family to dine on your first evening is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. It is a fun buffet with Mickey and often Minnie, Donald and Goofy will be there too. Imagine your daughters face when she sees the characters for the first time on her first day, this will also save you time once you do visit the parks as you won't need to wait in line to see these characters again. You can book this restaurant either online via www.disneyworld.com or by calling 407-939-3463 up to 90 days prior to your trip. As you are arriving on December 19th you can make your reservations on September 20th and I would recommend you do book then on that day as Disney restaurants get booked up very quickly, especially towards Christmas.
