First trip to DW w/ 2 year old. It looks like the Polynesian would be the most convenient since we will spend the majority of our time at Magic Kingdom. Pictures don't look like much fun for toddlers. Would Animal Kingdom be a better choice? Suggestions?

    Hello, Natacha!

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of three Disney Deluxe Resort hotels located along the monorail loop, and in my opinion, is very convenient for traveling to Magic Kingdom Park. I hope that you will take a look at this very helpful Disney Resort hotel comparison tool, where you can see and compare up to four hotels at one time, but I am also happy to share my personal opinion with you regarding the similarities and differences between Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

Of the two Deluxe Resort hotels that you are considering, I personally prefer Disney's Polynesian Village Resort because of the proximity to both Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot via the monorail system. You may find that your family prefers the animal-filled grasslands of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge over the tropical island setting of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, but overall, these two are very comparable.

As far as child appeal goes, you won't have to worry about either resort. Both provide fun supervised children's activity centers, family-friendly pools or water playground areas, and specially themed recreation options for families to enjoy together. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also offers a great character dining experience on-site, so if you want to enjoy a hearty breakfast with favorite Disney friends, you won't even have to leave your resort! This meal is the Best Friends Breakfast at 'Ohana, and reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance of your vacation.

I think you will enjoy either hotel with your toddler, and hope you and your family enjoy a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Natacha! If you have any other questions before your visit, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
