    This will be our first trip to Disney World. I am going to pre-order the photo cd, but my question is ... Are all pictures taken on Disney property put on the photo pass? Especially character meals. Thanks.

    This is a bit of a tricky question. Many, but not all, of the photos taken at WDW will be put on your PhotoPass CD.

    There are photographers stationed outside some of the character meals and dinner shows. They will take a family photo as you enter the restaurant. These photos are not really part of the PhotoPass program. The pictures will actually printed out right there at the restaurant. While you are enjoying the meal, the pictures will be brought over to you. You can take a look at them and, if you like them, you will purchase them right there. (You are under no obligation to buy them, my family often doesn't.)

    If you do decide to buy the pictures, you will also be given a code number that works in the PhotoPass system. So, not only are you buying the prints, you are also buying a link to the digital image so that you can go onto the PhotoPass website and add the pictures to your PhotoPass CD or order more prints at a later date.

    A few months ago, my family dined at Chef Mickey's with Moms Panelist Bret and his family. We had some group shots taken of all of us together. Bret elected not to buy his photos, while I did buy ours. Since I got the PhotoPass code for one of the group shots, I was later able add the group photo to my PhotoPass CD. When I got the CD, I emailed Bret the JPEG as a souvenir.

    Another situation where photos taken at WDW do not end up on your PhotoPass CD is photos taken on rides. With the one exception of Test Track, the photos snapped while you are experiencing a ride, must be purchased separately at a stand near the attraction exit.

    The rule of thumb is that if you hand your PhotoPass card to a photographer and he/she scans it into the system, then the photo will be on the CD. If the picture is just taken and there is no PhotoPass card involved, then the photo will not end up on your CD.
