first trip to Disney world for grandson. we have been there but not in LONG time. Want to be there for his 6TH bday. it's Oct 11. Want to know exactly what to make reservations for ahead of time. And should do 6days or 5 days. Do wanttostayinparkanyideas?

    Kim,

Since it is his first time, I think you will find that simply being there is very special. Don't feel like you need to lay on a lot of 'extra' experiences this first time. What I would recommend that you DO want to make reservations for is any table service meals that you would want to attend. I think that for him you should focus on maybe one character meal, and then a few others on top of that. But don't plan more than one per day, as it becomes too much food, cost, and time for kids his age. I would LOVE to make some recommendations on restaurants, if you are interested.

As for timing, you should make those meal reservations as soon as you can. The reservation window for you is already open, so you will want to call so that you get the destinations you really want.

As for # of days, you can really swing either. If you can afford 6 days, do it. The incremental ticket costs are pretty low, though of course those are not your only expenses. And with 6 days you can spend 3 days in the Magic Kingdom, and still visit all the other three parks too.

Write me back if you want some suggestions for restaurants. Let me know where you are staying, and any food and character preferences-that helps a lot with selection.

    Have a magical vacation!
