First trip to Disney with my 5yo son. We are hoping to travel there at the end of 09/12, beginning of 10/12, staying at a Disney Resort. Wondering if you could advise how busy park may be at that time of year, is this good time to visit?

Welcome to the Mom's Panel, Shannon!  We're glad you're hEAR!  Your son is the perfect age to experience all the "Magic" that a Disney Vacation has to offer!  I have traveled to Walt Disney World during the last weekend of September, as well as, the first full week of October and definitely thought it was a great time to visit!  We found the crowds to be minimal and the parks very manageable. The unofficial website allears.net lists the Historical Attendance Levels at Disney as "lowest attendance" for the weeks after Labor Day until the week prior to Thanksgiving. I definitely think late September/early October will be less crowded than Spring Break, the Holiday Seasons, and when the schools are out for summer. The weather is usually very comfortable for park touring during the fall months. I hope this information helps! Please let me know if you have any other specific questions regarding resort choices, park planning, or would like dining suggestions! I would love to help make your son's first trip to Walt Disney World extra magical!!
