Our first trip to Disney is scheduled for Dec. 13 - Dec. 21. According to the "touring plans", crowds should be low initially and should start building by Dec. 20 for the Christmas rush. Do you find this to be true?

Touringplans.com is a very reliable site. They do extensive research and expert analysis. I would certainly feel that there information is accurate. It also makes sense to me from a purely logical standpoint. The rule of thumb is that when schools are out, Disney is crowded. Most school districts will be letting out for the holiday on December 19. As soon as that happens, folks will flock to Disney World.

For your trip, I would make sure to experience all your "must do" rides at the beginning of your trip when the lines will be shorter. Later in your trip, focus on things for which you can have reservations such as the dinner shows, Cirque du Soleil, or the Epcot Candlelight dinner package. Another nice activity toward the end of your trip would be going around to the different resorts to see the unique holiday decorations at each location.

Christmas at Disney World is beautiful. I hope you have a great trip!
