First trip to Disney for my husband, 7 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son this September. What character meal would you recommend that both would enjoy? Do I have to make reservations for all of the sit down meals 90 days in advance.

How exciting to be planning your first Disney vacation Susan! You don't have to reserve you full service meals in advance, but I highly recommend it to avoid disappointment. You'll be there during free dining, so the restaurants fill up quickly.

We love character meals, as it gives great photo ops and quality time with the characters without waiting in line in the theme parks. My daughter also loves the buffets, where she can get more variety than the standard kid fare. Here are some of our favourites that I think both of you children might enjoy. Please note that the characters are subject to change without notice.

    Magic Kingdom
    - Crystal Palace - Fabulous buffet for all ages with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet
    - Cinderella's Royal Table - Dine in the palace with the princesses and you will all be treated royally!

    Animal Kingdom
    - Tusker House in Africa offers Donald's Safari Breakfast, with Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Minnie and Pluto. We try to get a reservation before the park opens, and then head straight to the safari.

    - 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian Resort) - breakfast includes Alice and the Mad Hatter (who are hilarious), Mary Poppins, Pooh, Eeyore and more. Dinner includes the Prince Charming and the wicked stepsisters.

    - Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort) is one of the most popular buffets, and include Mickey, Minnie and their pals.

    - Ohana (Polynesian Resort) - Lilo and Stitch join you for breakfast served family style.

These are all very popular, so be sure to call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) 90 days before your arrival  to book ahead. Have a magical vacation.
