We are first timers to WDW, we are staying may 23-29th 2011 and are staying at AKL with a 5 year old. I know everyone says you wont have enough time to see everything. So any advice for what we should focus on or try to experience? Thanks! :)

    Hi Stephanie,

You are right-it will be hard to see everything at the Walt Disney World Resorts. I have been over two dozen times and still have not seen everything, however, it is the perfect excuse to keep coming back. I think if you realize you can always come back, this will ease the pressure.

With a five year old and probably a stroller, you will be touring slowly. When my princesses were unable to ride an attraction with a height requirement such as Space Mountain, we just bypassed it until we all could ride it. You can use the Rider Swap if you like, we just did not.

If your prince knows about the trip, watch the planning video together or look at the attractions on line and see what sparks his interest. Then make sure you make those attractions. and he thinks he did everything. You can also pick some out must sees at each park and cover those. You will receive guides for show times and parades upon check in.

I might also think about not using the park hopper option at this age especially if you are planning on returning in the future. This will allow you to concentrate on one park a day. In addition, if a park closes early such as Animal Kingdom, you can hit the pool or tour Downtown Disney instead of heading out to another park. This will help you relax and not feel the need for another vacation at the end of this vacation.

Finally, schedule your meal time. This give you a great chance to catch your breath and refuel for the day.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
