    First timers! Trying to plan a week in May 2013. Don't know where to start. What hotels are best for providing transport to all parks? Are there any hotels centrally located between all parks? Family of 4, mom, dad, daughter 20 (twenty) & son six.

    Tracy,

    The hotels all seem to have different offerings when it comes to transportation. Here are the simple ways to narrow down what you want;

    Rule #1: Deluxe hotels typically offer more appealing transportation options to the parks. Monrails and boats are always preferable to buses.
    Rule #2: With younger children (like your son), proximity to the Magic Kingdom is usually paramount. That means a Deluxe resort on the monorail line to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot (Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian) are the best choices, with the Wilderness Lodge (boat to the Magic Kingdom) as a close next option.
    Rule #3: WIth older children (like your daughter) or adult only parties, the Epcot area Deluxe Resorts (BoardWalk Inn, Yacht and Beach Clubs, Dolphin and Swan) are some of your best options, with boat or walking access to both Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the BoardWalk.
    Rule #4: If the moderates or values are more in your budgets, transportation is almost exclusively by bus. To be as central as you can, the Art of Animation/Pop Century (Value), and Coronado Springs (Moderate) seem to be the most central.
    Rule #5: If you plan a lot of Downtown Disney time, the Port Orleans resorts (moderates) do have a nice boat access to that area, so consider that as a moderate alternative.

    So those are a lot of rules! What would I suggest to you? With both a 20 year old, and a 6 year old, here is where I would stay, by resort class;

    Deluxe: Beach Club
    Moderate: Port Orleans Riverside
    Value: Art of Animation

    Write me back if you want to discuss this further. I am also glad to recommend some dining and special event planning to make it fun for the whole family.

    Have a magical vacation!
