We are first timers. We have reservations at the Castle for Christmas dinner. A friend told me that once MK reaches capacity, they won't let you in even if you have reservations. Is this true? We can't go first thing in the morning.

Hi, Andrea!  It is true that if the theme park fills to capacity, they cannot permit any additional guests to enter, even if they have dining reservations.  The Magic Kingdom has in the past filled to capacity on Christmas day, as it is probably the most popular day to be in the Magic Kingdom all year long.  Adding to the crowds on this particular day is the fact that the Magic Kingdom has extra magic hours that morning, meaning resort guests can enter an hour before the general public in the morning.  Parks with extra magic hours tend to draw more of the resort crowd in the morning.

If you can't go first thing in the morning, go as soon as you can.  The earlier the better, but there is still a chance you may gain access to the Magic Kingdom if you can wait and see if they at some point are able to allow people to enter.  There isn't anything they can do about the capacity, as it's established by the fire marshall, but you may be able to get in as other guests leave.

I hope it all works out and you don't have any difficulty in getting to your magical holiday meal!
