Hello, first timer here!I’m trying to plan our days- If I choose to go else where during the morning, but want to come back to MK for the evening is that allowed or do I have to enter MK by a certain time? And what if plans change and we don’t make it?

    Hello Victoria! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited to hEAR that you're getting ready to experience your inaugural visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  I think you'll find that it's going to be the first of many! With four Theme Parks, two Water Parks, over 25 Disney Resorts Collection hotels, and the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of Disney Springs, you'll always find something new to experience and you'll love returning to some of your old favorites.

I know that planning, especially for your first visit, can feel a little overwhelming, but I think you'll find that as soon as you step onto Disney property your stress goes away and you can fully focus on the fun.  Once you've purchased your Theme Park Tickets, thinking about which Parks you'll be in on which days is important for making Theme Park Reservations and Advance Dining Reservations. At the moment, all Guests entering any of the four Theme Parks need both a valid Park Admission Ticket as well as a Theme Park Reservation.  You'll want to make your Theme Park Reservations as early as possible, as the Parks can (and do) sometimes fill up.

When making your Theme Park Reservations you'll want to think about which Park you'll be heading to first each day.  You will always need to scan into the Theme Park with your Theme Park Reservation first, even if you have a Park Hopper Option Theme Park Ticket that allows you to move from one Theme Park to another throughout the same day.

When thinking about your specific example, you'll be able to scan into Magic Kingdom at any time of day as long as you have a Theme Park Reservation for Magic Kingdom OR you've already scanned into another Park where you had a Theme Park Reservation and it is after 2 p.m. (Park Hopping begins at 2 p.m. each day).

If you need to change your Theme Park Reservations you can always do so right on your My Disney Experience mobile app as long as there is availability at the other Park you wish to visit. You technically need to "cancel" your first Park reservation before you can book a new one, so make sure there is availability before you cancel!

As you continue with your planning feel free to stop by and visit us again here at planDisney!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
