Hi Thyron,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney! I’m so excited for your family’s first visit to Walt Disney World! As a mom of two (ages 3 and 7), I can tell you firsthand that every age brings new magic. My daughters have been visiting since they were babies; there’s always something to spark joy each and every time.
Disney is designed for everyone, and there’s plenty for your 18-month-old to enjoy! Any attraction without a height requirement is fair game, and you’ll also find tons of character meet & greets where she can hug Mickey, Minnie, and all their pals. Just open your My Disney Experience app to see real-time wait times and locations for character experiences. Plus, play areas are throughout the parks—perfect for letting tiny explorers burn off some energy and get those wiggles out. Now, let’s dive into some experiences for little ones at the parks you’re visiting!
These are my top recommendation must-dos for little ones in the parks you will be visiting:
Magic Kingdom: Dumbo the Flying Elephant (with a play area in the queue!), It’s a Small World, Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid, and character meet & greets like Mickey at Town Square Theater and princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall. Also, to find a cozy spot to watch the parade, your little one will adore waving to the characters as they pass.
Hollywood Studios: Disney Junior Play & Dance! is a hit with little ones, and if she loves Disney Junior, consider having breakfast at Hollywood & Vine to dine with her favorite characters. Just not Disney Junior characters are typically only available for breakfast (subject to change). Meet-and-greets with Olaf, Goofy, and Max are also must-dos!
EPCOT: Spaceship Earth (a slow-moving journey through time) and The Seas with Nemo & Friends (with huge fish tanks to explore!). Kidcot Fun Stops in World Showcase offers interactive crafts to entertain little ones.
Here are some additional tips for a smooth trip:
- Check out the Baby Care Centers. Each park has one that offers changing tables, nursing rooms, microwaves, and baby essentials—a total lifesaver!
- Download the My Disney Experience App. This is your magic wand for checking wait times, ordering food on your mobile device, booking Lightning Lanes, and more!
- Be sure to take breaks and let your little one explore. The Dumbo play area and grassy hub near Cinderella Castle are perfect spots to reset.
- Purchase Memory Maker—One purchase covers unlimited digital downloads of all your magical family photos! These memories will last a lifetime, which is a perfect way to keep them forever.
Thyron, know I gave you a ton of information, so please let me know if you have any other questions!
See you real soon,
Christina
