First time to WDW! Trying to decide between Caribbean and PO RIverside. My mother, husband, 2 year old son, and I are staying for a week in Aug. We love ambiance, swimming, and fun for toddler. Son still naps so transportation and location are important.

    Liesel,

I think that the better alternative for you would be Port Orleans Riverside.

While both have equally good ambiance, just with different themes, I think that Port Orleans Riverside has more variety in their ambiance. I also think it is easier to get a nap in for a toddler here, as it seems quieter than Caribbean Beach.

There also seems to be more to do in Port Orleans, so I think they win the activity/fun department.

I think the main pool at Caribbean Beach resort might be a bit better, and the toddler section is particularly nice. But the one at Port Orleans Riverside is just fine.

As for transportation, clearly Port Orleans Riverside is better. I think the bus transportation seems more convenient, and the boat access to Downtown Disney is the deciding factor here.

So either is good. But unless the pool is so very much more important than all other factors, I would certainly opt for Port Orleans Riverside.

    I hope that this helps?

    Have a magical vacation!
