Our first time to WDW, travelling Nov 27 - 1 week w 3 kids (9,6,3). Buried in information. Thinking back to your first time, what was the one thing you wished you would have known or you wished you would have asked this panel? Best secret advice tip?

Hi, Diane!  I absolutely LOVE this question!  I think I do sometimes forget what it was like for us on our first family trip to Walt Disney World and how overwhelming it was!

I think the one thing I really wish I had known was how important it is to make advanced dining reservations.  Especially now with the popularity of the dining plan and the offers of free dining, it can be a challenge to get a table at a restaurant you have your heart set on.  I tell people now not to do what I did on our first couple of trips - which was to just wing it and hope for the best.  As soon as you book your trip, start planning when you want to dine where.  You can book dining reservations 180 days in advance by calling 407-939-3463.

We also didn't know back in the day how many activities there are outside of the theme parks!  My kids love to play miniature golf at the Winter Summerland golf course, and I enjoy some of the behind the scenes tours available throughout Walt Disney World.  We have enjoyed quite a few over the years, including the Family Magic Tour.

The best secret tip I give that I use myself - save a little money to do something special each trip.  We might eat a few breakfasts of cereal in our room to save a few dollars, but then I take those dollars and try to do something the kids will remember from each trip.  Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, Wonderland Tea Party, a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique - I like to give them something to remind them of the magic that exists!

I hope your vacation is filled with magical moments!
