So it will be our first time going to Walt Disney World Orlando with a 2yr old toddler and was wondering if he needs a special wristband or something to get on rides and how does that all work???

    Hello Cassandra!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for visiting us. Congratulations!! Aaaahh... how exciting! There's nothing more magical than taking a toddler to Walt Disney World for the first time, and experiencing all the whimsy and wonder together. I'm so happy you've got this amazing countdown to anticipate!

My family loves wearing MagicBand+ wristbands when we visit Disney World. It's such an easy option for accessing your park tickets, charging food or merchandise purchases, tapping into any Lightning Lane passes... even opening our Disney Resort hotel room. That being said, wearing them is totally optional! Instead of a MagicBand, you can also use a physical park ticket, or link your tickets and use the My Disney Experience app

In the case of your little Mouseketeer, if he is still under the age of 3 when you visit... his park admission will be free! And once you're inside the park, you are free to enjoy all attractions and rides without a wristband or MagicBand.

Two tips I'd love to share before I go!

Each of the four Disney Parks has a Baby Care Center that can be a nice, quiet, air-conditioned place for a break when needed. There are plenty of changing stations and a few emergency items for sale that can come in handy. We once purchased a "nuk" at one of the baby care centers that was a life-saver! Well, technically just a sleep-saver. But boy, were we grateful.

Stroller rentals are located just inside the park entrances, and can really save on tired little legs. By the time our kiddos were toddlers, we preferred the ease of this park rental option over bringing our own stroller to and from the park, and on the Disney transportation.

Cassandra, I hope this helps. I'll be sending loads of pixie-dust for you to make some wonderful, magical memories with your little one! Please visit us again at planDisney if we can help with any additional questions, or just general tips on where to meet characters, ideal itineraries for wee ones, and dining recommendations.

    Magical Memories Await,
    Tami
