Hi Arun,
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting to be planning for your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! You’ve come to the right place for some heartfelt advice and experienced tips!
Arun, for me, the choice between renting a car or taking an Uber/Lyft is a matter of preference and budget. When my family stays at a non-Disney hotel, we usually prefer to rent a car. It gives you complete control of your schedule and you can move easily around the resort. I also like the convenience of a rental car when traveling to and from the airport. Remember, you will pay for
Theme Park Parking at the first theme park you enter daily. Simply show your parking receipt to each park you visit later in the day!
Now, one of the benefits of a rideshare such as Uber/Lyft is that you will be dropped off close to the park entrance, so if that is important, keep that in mind. And of course, a rideshare will allow you the luxury of not having to drive – it's like Cinderella’s coach!
Arun, remember that all Guests of Walt Disney World Resort, whether you are staying in a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel or staying off-site, can use the
Resort Transportation such as the
Walt Disney World Monorail Transportation or
Water Transportation,
Walt Disney World Bus Service, and the
Disney Skyliner. This makes travel from one park to another or a dining reservation smooth sailing. Hopefully, this information will help you make your decision.
